Nicki Minaj has confirmed the details for her new single.
The Trinidadian-born American rapper and singer (real name Onika Tanya Maraj) christened “Megatron” as her next promotional cut and will release it on June 21 via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.
The track was co-written by Denisha “Blu June” Andrews and Brittany “Chi” Coney of Nova Wav, who are also responsible Chloe x Halle’s “Be Yourself,” Monica’s “Commitment,” Tinashe’s “Ooh La La,” Mary J. Blige’s “Thriving,” Saweete’s “Emotional,” and Teyana Taylor’s “Gonna Love Me.”
Production duties on “Megatron” were handled by Andrew “Pop” Wansel, who previously teamed up with Minaj on singles “Your Love” and “Right By My Side” (featuring Chris Brown), taken from the albums “Pink Friday” (2010) and “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” (2012), respectively.
Minaj’s most recent studio collection, 2018’s “Queen,” debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles “Chun-Li,” “Bed” (featuring Ariana Grande), “Barbie Dreams” and “Good Form.”
